First, a word to those of you familiar with the canon of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series: forget it. Stop right there. We’re not doing that. This is not a Twilight roleplay and the Twilight canon will not affect characters here. Now, read on to find out what we are doing.
Werewolves
Most of the time, werewolves are indistinguishable from normal humans. It is under the influence of the full moon, they are transformed into wolves. While under this transformation, they lose touch with their human minds and become vicious animals. In their wolf form, werewolves look exactly like ordinary wolves, except that they retain the eyes they have in their human form. Werewolves are not able to resist their transformation, nor are they able to control when they transform or to what extent they transform. Whether a werewolf character remembers what he or she has done while in wolf form is up to the roleplayer.
Vampires
Vampires are undead humans who “survive” on the blood of other humans. Just to be clear, the blood must be human blood, and if vampires do not get enough to eat, they will slowly starve. Vampires should be able to last a week without feeding. After that, they gradually become weaker and more unhappy. If they go too long without feeding, they will eventually become completely unable to function. However, they can still be brought back to “life” if given blood. Vampires are highly sensitive to sunlight, so they cannot go out during the day. The avoidance of sunlight will make them paler than average, but that doesn’t mean vampire characters can’t have different skin types: being a vampire does not turn you into an albino, it just makes sunlight too painful to allow your character to get a tan.
Gypsies
Gypsy is the name given by the English to the Romani people, a race of humans whose origins are traced to medieval India. They are known for their music, dance, and fortune telling magical powers. Roleplayers with Gypsy characters are strongly encouraged to do some research on the Romani people to learn about the culture and stereotypes and decide those things should affect their characters. In this roleplay, Gypsies can perform fortune telling magic (reading palms, crystal balls, etc.); roleplayers should arrange readings and how they will play out beforehand, out of character. Readings can be very simple, such as the Gypsy saying "I see rushing water," and the subject later falling into the lake. Gypsies cannot perform actual curses or charms, but that doesn't mean they can't pretend to cast them. Any effects a gypsy's curse has are coincidental and/or psychological.
